Have you ever ran up an escalator that is going against your direction? I did, and it was thrilling!

When I was younger, I was fascinated by escalators. I would stand on the bottom landing platform earnestly and gaze up to wait for the parents whom did not scamper all the way down as quickly as possible (much to the ire of commuters). On one occasion, I grew so impatient waiting for them that I ran all the way up (it was at least 100 steps) to find them. Elbows and people were my challenges. The steps seemed endless and tease me for even trying to go against the flow. Finally, I jumped from the last rung of the steps and planted myself on the top landing platform– letting out a “Booya!” and feeling victorious!
